We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Technologist to join our Operations Department. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the planning, inspection, and coordination of vital municipal infrastructure projects that directly impact our community.
As an Engineering Technologist, you will review preliminary and detailed design drawing submissions; conduct field work such as surveying and site inspections; ensure compliance with development standards by overseeing the inspection and enforcement of municipal infrastructure installations; collaborate closely with the Community Development Department to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and development issues. This position exercises considerable independence of judgement in carrying out these duties and plays a key role in ensuring infrastructure projects are delivered efficiently and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will possess:
Civil Engineering Technology Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution;
Accredited or eligible for accreditation with ASTTBC as a Civil Engineering Technologist;
Demonstrated design and construction experience in municipal engineering projects such as roads, water, sewer and stormwater design;
Demonstrated exceptional knowledge and ability in the preparation of cost estimates, tender documents;
Minimum of two years experience in a similar position, preferably in a civil/municipal setting;
A valid driver's license.
The wage rate for this union position is $48.32 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package including Municipal Pension Plan. This position also offers the potential for a hybrid work schedule, supporting a healthy work-life balance.
