Job Description

The Transportation and Development Services Division is seeking junior staff to perform technical work related to municipal engineering. Our department is focused on improving safety for all road users, reducing Saanich\xe2\x80\x99s climate footprint, and facilitating the rapid development of housing and jobs.Your duties to support this will include responding to inquiries received from the public, reviewing road works permit applications, designing minor road safety improvements and providing technical support to senior staff. You bring an open mind to the future possibilities of active transportation in Saanich. Personal experience walking, rolling, and cycling considered an asset to join an award-winning team. We are looking for applicants who bring creative, sustainable, and practical solutions to transportation related problems.Qualified applicants have strong written and oral communications skills; a two-year Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from a recognized institution; three months of related experience; eligibility for registration with ASTTBC; strong computer skills; and a valid Class 5 BC Driver\xe2\x80\x99s Licence.
