Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking an Engineering Co-op Student for the Summer 2023 Term to work with our Production Planning Team.

This is a temporary student role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. Qualifications:

  • Education Required: Currently enrolled in a 4-year Engineering degree program
  • Strong academic performance and a desire to excel
  • Proven leadership in professional, athletic, school or community pursuits
  • Interest in the shipbuilding, defense, or marine industry and a desire to join an exciting, fast-paced organization
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, openness to learning new technology
  • Skilled in organizing and managing a variety of tasks with varying priorities and is a fast learner and effective problem solver
All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work in the Government Material and Engineering Integration team
  • Liaison with various other stakeholders including Production, Procurement, Planning, and Engineering personnel
  • Ability to review technical data, develop processes and solve problems
