The QEII Halifax Infirmary Expansion Program (HIEP) is a 1.2 million square foot expansion of the Province of Nova Scotia's existing QEII campus, being completed under a complex P3 contract structure. PCL Constructors Canada Inc. is collaborating with multiple partners from across the country to undertake the single largest healthcare infrastructure project considered in Nova Scotia. As a complex mega project, PCL is assembling a team of experienced construction professionals that will be dedicated to the completion of the project. We are seeking an Engineering Student, for our

, working in

Halifax

, within our Canadian Buildings Division that are available for 4 month or 8 months starting in

May 2026.

As an

Engineering Student

you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

Responsibilities

Coordinating drawings, work specific scope / trades, trade quote reviews - verify material quantities, verify hours, verify rates, deficiency walks etc Participating in project meetings, Inputting / Updating deficiency logs and issuing warranties Taking / Coordinating progress photos, and updating field drawings Producing as-built drawings Performing quantity takeoffs, coordinating and supervising sub-trade work and Verifying site conditions and coordinating with drawings Setting-up / Maintaining record keeping Layout site lines and grades using total station Creating manual schedules, updating schedules using Primavera P6 EPPM software, maintaining graphical scheduling using AutoCAD. Obtaining scheduling information from sub-trades and updating project schedules Monitoring workforce productivity

Qualifications

------------------

Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset. Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.
