Under the direction of the Process Engineering Manager the Engineering Specialist Electronics and Field Service supports production objectives to improve quality and delivery. The Engineering Specialist will evaluate recommend and implement shop floor process improvement activities. This position will provide technical information to cross functional teams recommend cost-effective procedures track and maintain implementation dates. This position will support continuous improvement activities of the Electronics and Field Service business requirements while supporting business goals and improving customer satisfaction. The Electronics and Field Service Engineering Specialist will be accountable for supporting solutions relating to quality and ensuring the Quality Management System is implemented and maintained effectively in the organization.

Job Duties

Provide leadership and direction for the Engineering team to consistently meet or exceed performance objectives for:

  • Training Electronics and Field Service products.
  • System set up Electronics and Field Service products.
  • New product/repair introduction Electronics and Field Service.
  • Technical support (Production/QA/RA/CSR etc.).
  • Workshop improvement/Cost reduction.
  • Provide continuous evaluation and improvement to produce the highest levels of Quality.
  • Evaluate recommend and implement process improvements to improve cost quality and delivery metrics.
  • Use Plan Do Check & Act (PDCA) method to analyze quality trends and make quality improvement recommendations and work with production supervisor to implement.
  • Establish and maintain communication across departments to ensure a high level of customer service and satisfaction is attained.
  • Support continuous improvement measures by providing analysis and correction of technical information and by recommending industries best practices.
  • Facilitate technical training on New Product Introductions (NPI) and New Repair Introductions (NRI).
  • Coordinate Change Notices (CNs), Change Orders (COs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPAs) and Corrective Action Reports (CARs) in a timely manner to close and/or achieve acceptable levels of compliance. Investigate and reports weekly on discrepant material notices (DMNs).
  • Support Value Stream Mapping (VSM) analysis and improvements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Job Qualifications

Required:

Requires a Bachelor\'s Degree in Engineering or an Associate\'s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and/or \'two years\' related service experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Able to perform required duties with minimum supervision. Knowledge of Health Canada regulations desirable.

Strong statistical analytical and decision-making sense of urgency skills.

Quality and Customer oriented.

Experience in coordinating activities among departments or groups.

Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Strong knowledge of development methodologies and problem-solving skills.

Must possess a high degree of personal organization and excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office. CAD desirable
