Position Description:

The Applications Engineering Intern is responsible for supporting the sales and service departments by providing insight, service and technical solutions to customers.

What You\'ll Do:

Review technical inquiries of customer to recommend and quote suitable hot runner system, submit quotations to Applications Engineering Manager for approval.

Communicate with customer and sales representatives and keep them informed.

Assist all team members from a technical perspective.

Constantly develop and expand own technical knowledge and experience.

Involved in Lean initiatives right from concept to completion.

Long term and short-term project involvement within cross functional teams

Utilization of issue resolution tools, root cause analysis and continuous improvement projects

Support drawing release process and print room function to ensure smooth delivery of drawings.

Basic Qualifications:

Enrolled in University Engineering programs

Self-starter, and ability to work independently, ability to manage own project schedule and timelines.

Knowledge of 3D CAD, MS Excel, Word

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Fundamental understanding of mechanical design, with appreciation for classes of fits and tolerances.

Ability to write routine reports and correspond effectively on a one-on-one basis with employees in the organization.

Good interpersonal, functional scientific and reporting skills. Familiarity with plastics test methods and Injection Moulding are considered an asset.

Ability to commute to Georgetown
