Your tasks




As

Engineering Manager

, you will be responsible for all of the department's activities. You will ensure that

strategic engineering objectives are met

, while supporting the operational and commercial departments. You will manage the

allocation of resources

according to ongoing projects in order to guarantee that

deliverables are met

. You will

work in collaboration

with other departments within the company, the parent company, and the North American divisions to optimize processes and improve performance.


Summary of tasks



Organization and performance



Supervise and coordinate the activities of the engineering department Participate in the development and monitoring of strategic and budgetary plans Provide technical support to sales and operational teams (sales, manufacturing, installation, delivery, and after-sales service) Collaborate with engineering centers of expertise at the parent company and other North American sites Effectively prioritize projects and allocate resources accordingly Maintain an effective communication network with other departments Monitor project progress and ensure the quality of deliverables Ensure that activities comply with applicable standards and regulations

Communication and collaboration



Work closely with operational teams to adapt methods and implement changes affecting production, construction sites, or customer operations Align departmental objectives with the company's strategic planning Clearly communicate decisions and mobilize stakeholders Maintain links with the group's sites to share best practices and improve processes and products

Health, safety, and environment (HSE)



Ensure compliance with HSE standards and support initiatives with the appropriate tools Guide the team toward continuous improvement to achieve HSE goals

Team management



Foster a collaborative and inclusive culture based on trust and mutual support Lead team meetings and maintain a positive and motivating atmosphere Set departmental objectives, evaluate individual performance, and provide constructive feedback Plan staffing, ensure integration, and develop talent Support, coach, and motivate the team to increase autonomy and engagement

Quality and Processes



Support quality assurance initiatives and ensure product compliance Implement and enforce product quality and engineering process standards Monitor quality system metrics and objectives

Your profile



Education and qualifications



Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, civil engineering, or a related field Minimum 10 years of experience working in a multidisciplinary engineering team in a manufacturing environment (experience in a multinational company: an asset) Minimum 5 years in a management position

Skills and experience



Experience in manufacturing Knowledge of plasma cutting, bending, machining, welding, and mechanical assembly processes Knowledge of ISO9001 and ISO45001 standards -- an assetMember of the OIQ and/or another engineering association in Canada Fluency in French and English, both spoken and writtenKnowledge of ERP systems (IFS: an asset) Solid experience in team management, including training and talent development Inspiring leadership, managerial courage, and clear communication Openness to technological innovations and best manufacturing practices Ability to manage conflicts with a proactive and collaborative approach Resilience in the face of the unexpected and ability to make quick and fair decisions

Other



Predisposition for short-term business trips to North America and Europe on very rare occasions Valid passport with no restrictions
