We Are Looking For:



We are looking for an experienced

Engineering Manager to help lead our dedicated team in Puslinch, ON. Working out of our 87,000 sq. ft. facility, this position will help support the existing Engineering Manager to lead our Engineering department, compromising of 6 staff. The successful candidate will report directly to the Senior Manufacturing Manager, and share the responsibility of planning and managing the activities of product engineering, technical documentation, order processing and sales support.

Primary Responsibilities:



Provide expert equipment design input for custom work orders Schedule and co-ordinate custom work order processing to accommodate production and delivery dates; track progress and consult with other internal departments Assign work/projects to personnel based on priority of business requirements Hire, train, manage, evaluate and optimize the performance of the department's staff Manage technical documents and data in the department, reviewing any changes made Review department processes, methods and procedures; Suggesting and implementing required adjustments to create optimal work flow Manage and co-ordinate the development and revisions of Pentalift equipment owner's manuals and installation manuals Manage, review and co-ordinate product designs and technical documentation in relation to liability issues and concerns Manage and control generation, issuance and distribution of Engineering Change Notices Manage and develop Confirmation, Concept and Approval drawings Ensure Bills of Materials are fully complete and accurate Manage and co-ordinate safety labeling requirements of equipment Schedule and co-ordinate production fabrication start dates and delivery dates of equipment Work collaboratively to provide relative technical information for special equipment cost estimation Analyze engineering sketches, specifications, and related data and drawings, to determine design factors; Co-ordinate the required activities within the department Compile and analyze test data to determine effect of machine design on various factors such as pressures, speed, horsepower, and operation time Manage R&D projects and documentation, working hands-on to ensure completion Responsible for the input accuracy of the ERP process and procedures related to the department Manage and support post sale customer service support and trouble shooting Work cooperatively and diligently with other departments as required; Assisting in the resolution of technical function and documentation related issues Attend Management meetings Ensure compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements Other related duties as required

Qualifications:



Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design and implementing solutions in a manufacturing setting Previous experience in a Manager or Supervisor role within a manufacturing environment considered a strong asset Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education or working experience Strong conceptual, analytical, problem solving and decision making skills Demonstrated skills in planning, documentation and time management Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Desired Credentials:



Electrical and hydraulic technical knowledge related to machine manufacturing Working experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV considered a strong asset Strong aptitude in leading a team and optimizing performance "Hands on" management style
