We are looking for an ambitious and team-oriented individual to join Miller Technology as the Engineering Manager.
The Role:
As the Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and mentoring our engineering team, standardizing processes, and championing our ERP system. You will work closely with various departments to ensure seamless collaboration and contribute to the development of cutting-edge products.
Responsibilities:
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Promote a safe, inclusive, and collaborative work environment that encourages creativity and problem-solving.
Oversee the research and development function, ensuring projects are aligned with company objectives and delivered on time and within budget.
Evaluate and prioritize R&D initiatives based on business needs, market trends, and technological advancements.
Ensure the successful transition of R&D projects into production, maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
Lead efforts to standardize Bills of Materials (BOMs) across all products to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in production and development processes.
Develop and implement engineering best practices, processes, and standards to enhance operational efficiency.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
Act as a key liaison between the engineering department and other departments, including production, operations, sales, and procurement.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address engineering challenges, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
Provide technical expertise and support to other departments as needed, including troubleshooting and problem resolution.
Learn and become a champion of the company's ERP system, ensuring it is effectively utilized to support engineering and business operations.
Train and support team members in the use of the ERP system, ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.
Lead and drive product development initiatives, from concept to launch, ensuring high-quality, innovative, and market-relevant solutions.
Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery of new products.
Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and feasibility studies to ensure the technical and commercial viability of new products.
Develop and manage the engineering department's budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet business goals.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team members to identify and implement innovative solutions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in engineering management, with a strong background in production and R&D.
Familiarity with ERP systems and a willingness to become an expert in their use.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments.
Experience in standardizing processes, particularly BOMs, is a strong asset.
Must be located in or willing to relocate to North Bay or Sudbury, Ontario.
Salary:
Our Company offers a comprehensive compensation package, commensurate upon an applicant's skill set and experience.
Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm, occasional overtime and weekend required.
