Role Overview: The Engineering Manager (EM) provides both people leadership and technical guidance, overseeing a cross-functional team of engineers. The EM ensures delivery on product goals, supports career growth, and contributes to scaling the product and company vision. They will partner with the Engineering, Product, and Design leaders to balance speed, quality, and long-term scalability.

What you'll do:

• People leadership: Manage individual contributors across 2-3 squads; run 1:1s, feedback, reviews, growth plans
• Group execution: Plan/prioritize with Product & Design teams, sequence dependencies and keep outcomes on track
• Hands?on work (10-30%): Review critical PRs, pair on complex designs/incidents, set standards
• Partner model: Work with the Director of Engineering (technical coaching, architecture). Tech Leads handle technical 1:1s/pairing inside squads
• Metrics: Improve throughput, stability and quality

What you bring:

• Post-secondary education in a Computer/Engineering/Design related field
• 8+ years building software; 3-5+ years leading/mentoring engineers

• Solid coding and system design; comfortable reviewing production code
• Experience improving execution (planning, delivery, DORA) and reliability (SLOs, incidents)
• Clear communicator and coach; align technical work to business results
• Bonus: Django/React in production; ecommerce/ticketing/payments; interest in AI/automation

Our stack (experience in the following or similar is required):

• Backend: Python/Django, Celery, Postgres, Redis
• Frontend: React + TypeScript + Next.js
• Platform & reliability: Docker, CI/CD, observability (metrics/logs/traces), SLOs/SLIs
