The position is accountable for managing a project engineering staff in the timely and accurate development and completion of equipment/system designs, drawings and specifications. The position is the technical resource / subject matter expert / team mentor for the portfolio of Enersul equipment, processes, and procedures. The position actively performs detailed engineering work required to produce final and correct engineering designs to meet client requirements. Enersul is an in office environment located in Calgary.
Responsibilities
Manage a multi-functional design and engineering group. Prioritizes group resource requirements.
Champions the development of the engineering team.
Effectively collaborates with Project Management and Procurement teams to meet the needs of customers.
Through team, is accountable for adherence to project schedules for all engineering deliverables; proactively evaluating and re prioritizing as needed.
Ensure compliance with corporate engineering work instructions, business process narratives, and procedures.
Provide mentorship and guidance to the engineering team to support their professional development.
Lead the development of product requirements, specifications, designs, codes, and standards.
Review, prepare, and ensure the accuracy of engineering drawings, P&IDs, specifications, datasheets, bills of materials, and calculations for assigned projects.
Participate in and contribute to technical reviews, ensuring that project requirements, designs, and compliance with relevant standards are met.
Address client feedback on engineered documents, providing resolutions and clarifications as necessary.
Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of corporate design standards and engineering processes.
Offer technical support to field personnel, assisting with on-site issues as they arise.
Occasional travel to fabrication facilities and client sites to evaluate project progress, quality of fabrication, and ensure alignment with project requirements.
Confer and advise Sales with bid specifications, project estimates and labor requirements.
Provide technical support and development of product requirements, specifications, designs, codes, and standards.
Provide resolutions and dispositions to client comments on engineered documents.
Ensures processes and procedures comply with State/ Province engineering professional practice standards. Contributes to the creation and maintenance of PPMP documents.
Functions as one of Enersul's Engineers of Record, is the primary representative with APEGA.
Partners with Quality to support ISO program.
Participates in and actions lessons learned after projects have been delivered.
Qualifications
Mechanical or Electrical Engineer
Professional Engineer designation in Alberta in good standing with APEGA
11+ Years of experience
Proven people leadership abilities
Knowledge and experience with Engineer of Record responsibilities
Additional Information
This role may require up to 10% travel internationally
This role is in office.
Physical demands may vary and could include extended periods of standing and occasional lifting of objects.
