Reporting to the Principal Architect, Sunlife International, the Engineering Lead is responsible for strategic delivery for IT initiatives for key Sun Life International projects. In doing this, the Engineering Lead will help bring Sun Life International and Sun Life Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s IT strategy to life. The focus will be primarily on necessary data migration efforts already underway and realizing a target state architecture.

In accomplishing these objectives, this role will encompass all aspects of IT architecture, migration management which will include troubleshooting with technical team assistance, technical solution designing and accurate breakdowns of highly complex projects. The role requires a strategic thinker who has a diligent work ethic, who can make clear and concise presentations that explain technical terms in an easy to understand manner, who will ensure business partner relationships are excellent while collaborating across teams to organize this function and engage others in the journey.

What will you do:

• Build relationship with Strategic delivery, Transformation and Business teams to become

a trusted partner and advocate of the architecture agenda.

• Capture Current state technology and application landscape across high-net-worth

business within Sun Life.

• Partner with Regional Architecture teams to define the target state Architecture

iteratively and keep it current.

• Build Architectural roadmap to achieve target state Architecture and refresh the strategy

to align with the business, product, market, and distribution segment changes.

• Implement digital plans to optimize and automate the business processes, enable the

distributors, and offer efficient platform for customer interaction and transactions

• Participate in the Annual program and prioritization to move the technological

investment towards the target state architecture.

• Partner with Enterprise services, DBTS, Asia and US IT teams to understand technology

and application strategy and align High Net worth technology architecture.

• Bring outside Industry view into the architecture strategy by attending conferences,

seminars and hands-on workshop.

What do you need to succeed?

• Full stack knowledge with ability to communicate well, translate business logic to technical requirements
• Expert knowledge in Python, Java/J2EE, API and Data integrations \xe2\x80\x93

SME In API design, development and modern coding practices \xe2\x80\x93 cross platform development, front end

Analyze, design, develop, as well as implement RESTful services and APIs

• Knowledge and experience in building IT architecture influenced by Business architecture

• including Data, Application, Technical and Infrastructure Architecture
• Knowledge of Cloud architecture - AWS
• Knowledge on SQL querying and BI solutions - Tableau
• Knowledge of Agile, Design Thinking methodologies and techniques
• Knowledge of IT governance, security, and risk management disciplines, understanding of digital transformation enablers, including Artificial Intelligence, Data & Analytics
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment under tight timelines

Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent

experience. A Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Computer Science, or related field is highly desirable.

• 4+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in designing IT architecture, API development and solutions engineering in multi-national companies with increasing responsibilities\xe2\x80\x94experience in life insurance/ financial services business is a plus.
• Expert in implementation of information technology integrations in a large

division/company

• Ability to design and implement scalable web solutions with high usability
• Should possess the ability to network and leverage different centers of excellence and

shared service organizations within the larger organization and Asia in particular

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
