Overview
Internship of four (4) or eight (8) months duration - Starting in January.
The Engineering Intern will be responsible for technical support of solar, wind and hydro project work at various stages from development and design to construction and operation. The intern will work with stakeholders in various departments within Kruger Energy and external consultants, equipment and service providers to successfully implement the projects.

RESPONSABILITIES
Technically support the various phases in renewable energy development and improve projects to meet the Companies' strategic objectives in solar, wind and hydro projects.
Creation and development of tools and resources to supplement project evaluation, development and operation.
o Examples: 1) solar evaluation tool for construction management & cost estimation, 2) reverse engineering the yield assessment analysis process for faster and more accurate production estimates, 3) streamlining of documentation
Support the project manager working on the construction of a solar project in Guatemala and the reparations of a hydro project in Sherbrooke.
Assist in third party equipment/services procurement and competitive bid submissions for renewable energy projects.
Support in reviewing and evaluating new opportunities and projects for acquisition.
Assisting in problem diagnostics and improving the operations and efficiencies of existing assets.
Perform site visits to evaluate projects and supervise work may be required.
Works with other members in the group, other Kruger departments (Engineering, Procurement, Accounting, Legal, Operations, IT and Development), or external consultants to achieve his assigned objectives. May need to work with equipment vendors to understand market products and procurement of project specific equipment.
REQUIREMENTS
Enrolled in a second or third cycle program in engineering or a related discipline;
Proficiency in relevant computer programs, such as spreadsheets and databases in the MS Office suite of applications;
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, such as site visits and assessments;
Team player, internal and external stakeholder engagement, community presence, autonomous and entrepreneurial;
Strong communication and presentation skills;
Bilingual, both orally and in writing (French and English);
Spanish would be an asset;
Experience with programming (VBA, Python, etc.) would be an asset;
Experience drafting or reading electrical schematics and single-line diagrams would be an asset;
Experience and understanding of renewable energy systems (solar, wind, and hydro) and the power grid would be an asset.
Knowledge of English is required for this specific position as Kruger deals with partners across North America and the successful candidate will be required to communicate frequently with them. Kruger has taken all reasonable steps to avoid imposing English language requirements, including assessing the actual language needs associated with the duties to be performed, ensuring that the language skills already required of other employees were insufficient for the performance of those duties, and limiting as much as possible the number of positions with duties requiring English language skills.
