Qualifications:

Boeing Winnipeg is currently seeking Engineering Interns to work out of our office in Winnipeg, MB. There is 1 8-month opportunity and one 4-month opportunity, both starting in January 2024.

We are looking for current post-secondary students who are interested in working side-by-side with experienced engineering professionals. Our student Interns are given a unique experience as they learn the ropes and attain newfound competencies. Interns are exposed to on-the-job challenges as they work on hands-on tasks, undergo training, and have the opportunity to work on special projects. Reporting to Functional Engineering Manager(s) and working on day shift supporting our operations customers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assists in developing models, data bases and spreadsheets to analyze data (e.g., statistics, operations research, engineering economics) and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation to customers (e.g., management, departments, suppliers).
  • Applies general engineering techniques and concepts to product and process design teams throughout all phases of product lifecycle resulting in a robust product design and work statement that meets program requirements.
  • Assists in research, design, development, improvement and implementation of processes to enhance schedule performance, lower cost and improve quality through the application of Lean and other Engineering concepts for large scale systems integration and asset utilization.
  • Utilizes engineering methods (e.g., mathematical models, simulation, statistics) to support the development of optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources (e.g., facilities, personnel, materials, equipment) in the creation and validation of products.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Winnipeg, MB.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
  • Must be a currently enrolled student attending a university or college with studies in Engineering or similar technical discipline
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills including PowerPoint and Excel
  • Must have strong oral and written communications skills
*Graduates are ineligible unless continuing in post graduate studies.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Prefer previous internship experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of aerospace structures and/or composite materials would be beneficial.
  • Hands-on experience with tools would be considered an asset.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Access would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in the use of CATIA or equivalent 3D Modelling software
Typical Education:
  • Must be at least a 2nd year engineering student with studies related to: Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Robotics, Materials, or Aerospace Engineering or must be at least in 2nd year of Engineering Technology college diploma program.
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student with an accredited university or college.
  • Must have a Canadian high school diploma or recognized equivalence.
Relocation:
  • Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
