WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:
As an engineering intern at Pliteq, you may have the opportunity to work closely in one or more of the 4 areas listed below;
Business Development:
Assist in all aspects of major projects in the region that require acoustical design solutions and/or that use Pliteq and competitors' products in commercial and other building types
Assist in project identification and tracking leading up to a successful sale
Scheduling meetings with world class architects so that our team can present highly technical data and assemblies
Create opportunities for Pliteq product specifications
Contribute creatively to new product development as well as any other areas of business
Using a clear framework, manage a campaign focused on a specific product class and project application
Assist in the creation of technical documentation
Process Engineering:
Identify way to improve our overall manufacturing process by suggesting and implementing improvements to assist with quality, cost, efficiency and of course, safety.
Develop and troubleshoot new equipment during initial start-up.
Support production with problem solving and support maintenance when equipment and/or process issues arise.
Monitor and reduce scrap levels, disposition seconds into useable product.
R&D & Quality in The Lab:
Review products for quality and conformance standards
Inspect, collect, prepare and test samples products to ensure they comply with specifications and standards
Assist in developing quality standards and providing quality systems training
AutoCad Take-Offs:
Draft AutoCAD take-off engineering drawings used for construction projects around the world, the Pliteq website and to support sales and field installation efforts
Become a subject matter expert in producing layout drawings using CAD software
Gain knowledge in being able to provide individualized recommendations on products based on customers acoustical needs
All other duties and special projects as required:
Work closely with engineers, managers and other employees and complete all tasks timely.
Incorporate academic knowledge into hands-on work
Undertaking projects and tasks as necessary/requested by engineers
Data collection and analysis as assigned
Attending and participating in meetings, workshops, events, exhibitions and tradeshows where necessary
Assist on compiling product samples and literature for client requests and tradeshows
Coordinate engineering test reports onto secure website by uploading reports, inputting detailed data, creating and uploading engineering drawings, and update database information
Organize engineering drawing database including cataloging, cross-checking for discrepancies, updating database with new drawings
Organize drawing database on Google Drive including cataloging and updating for each Pliteq product offering
Answer customer requests by phone or email, pleasantly.
Identifying any potential weaknesses (processes, systems, etc) and offering improvement suggestions
Data entry into ERP programs

Must be enrolled in post-secondary education at a recognized institution
Enrollment in a Bachelor's of Engineering program preferred
Experience working with CAD software considered an asset

8, 12, or 16 month opportunities available starting May or September!
Area of work is determined based on candidates interest, and availability.
