The Engineering Intern has a 4 month opportunity to develop skills related to design, analysis, and product development. The intern will work with senior engineers and designers in the design of drilling rig structures and equipment. Job Responsibilities include:
- Check and review drawings/documents
- Perform basic analysis of structures and machinery for given load scenarios
- Ability to understand mechanical systems and welded assemblies as it pertains to drilling equipment and components
- Ability to solve problems with limited information in a timely manner
- Perform calculations and FEA/computer analysis as required
- Review and apply standards including, but not limited to, API, AISC, DNV
- Ability to communicate effectively technical principles and equipment operation to other departments
- Perform other work related tasks as assigned
- Ability to work in a team setting, receive direction and feedback from colleagues, work independently but seek guidance when required
- Comply with all NOV company and HSE procedures and policies
