Working for Pembina means working safely.Overview:Pembina Pipeline Corporation\'s Redwater office is recruiting for an Engineering Intern to join the team for an 8-12-month term. The successful candidate will learn at the end off their work term the following skills:

  • How a midstream plant operates;
  • How to do a proper risk assessments;
  • How to read PID\'s;
  • How to create datasheets;
  • What the Management of Change process entails; and
  • How to read data and read trends.
This position reports to the Supervisor, Operations Engineering in the Natural Gas Liquids Business Unit (NBU), part of Pembina\'s Operations Business Division.NBU is involved in the Fractionation, Terminaling & Storage, and Logistics and Distribution of specification natural gas liquids throughout north America. Natural Gas Liquids are components of natural gas classified by weight and number of carbon atoms - Methane (C1), Ethane (C2), Propane (C3) Butane (C4) and Condensate (mixture of C5+). Fractionation involves separating the different products in an NGL mix out into Ethane, Propane and Butane.Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Work with experienced Engineers to trend data and help retrieve data;
  • Support Documentation request and Data collection;
  • Support experienced engineers in executing management of change and risk assessments;
  • Support drawing changes and datasheet updates; and
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
Qualifications:
  • Full completion of 1st year of a four-year accredited Chemical or Mechanical Engineering program;
  • Committed to learning and working hard in a results-driven team environment;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint;
  • Good technical writing skills is a strong asset;
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic principles related to engineering;
  • Must be highly analytical, self-motivated, excellent communication skills, and have a demonstrated ability to establish strong internal and external relationships;
  • Advanced computer skills, analytical capabilities and the ability to problem solve;
  • Previous experience working in an engineering environment would be beneficial;
  • Valid Class 5 driver\'s license; and
  • Willingness to commit to an 8-12-month term.
This position is considered \xe2\x80\x9cSafety Sensitive\xe2\x80\x9d so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing. You may also be required to provide a Driver\'s Abstract.The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Redwater, AB.The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position.
