Baxter's Welding is a well-established industrial fabrication and welding company serving Alberta's energy and industrial sectors. We are seeking a

skilled Engineering Designer

with hands-on

AutoCAD Plant 3D

experience to support fabrication, piping, and plant layout projects.

About the Role

You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and shop personnel to develop accurate 3D models and drawings that support fabrication and field execution. This role is ideal for someone who understands how design translates to real-world construction.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain

3D plant models

using

AutoCAD Plant 3D

Produce

P&IDs, piping layouts, isometrics, and fabrication drawings

Coordinate with fabrication and welding teams to ensure constructability Update drawings based on field changes and redlines Apply client, industry, and company drafting standards Support project documentation and drawing control

Required Qualifications

Proven experience using

AutoCAD Plant 3D

(not just AutoCAD) Background in

industrial, piping, or process plant design

Ability to interpret

P&IDs, piping specs, and fabrication drawings

Strong attention to detail and drawing accuracy Experience working with fabrication or welding teams is a strong asset Eligible to work in Canada

Preferred Assets

Mechanical Engineering Technologist or Engineering Design and Drafting Technologist background Experience in

oil & gas, industrial, or energy projects

Familiarity with Alberta codes and industry standards Field or shop experience supporting construction or fabrication

Pay: $80,000.00-$135,000.00 per year
