We are seeking three (3) Engineering Co-op students to support capital project delivery within the Terminal Construction department. The positions will have staggered start dates, with each student beginning their term at a different time over a rolling timeline between January 2026-April 2027. As an Engineering Co-op, your primary responsibility will be to assist project managers with project-related tasks, enabling them to focus on more critical responsibilities.
In this position, you will learn and develop engineering and project management skills, gain knowledge of terminal infrastructure and its design, and become familiar with project planning and development, cost estimating, scheduling, contract administration, procurement, BC Ferries' computer systems, and report writing. You are a self-starter who performs well under limited supervision, and you demonstrate maturity, responsibility, reliability, and competence.
What you bring to the team
Currently enrolled as an Engineering student in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
Experience with AutoCAD or other design software is preferred
Experience with MS Project scheduling is preferred
Strong computer skills in MS Excel and Word
Ability to be a self-starter, take initiative, and communicate well
Interest in construction and project management
Previous work experience involving engineering design or construction management is preferred
