The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an Engineering Co-op Student to join our Operational Excellence Team in Toronto, working in a hybrid environment. This is a 4-12-month fixed term position.

As a Co-op student within the Operational Excellence (OE) function, you will be interacting with cross functional teams across mining and processing plants and delivering on continuous improvement projects requiring you to take advantage of your creative thinking and deducing inferences from data to support safe and reliable operations and increased business performance.

Additionally, in this position you will:

• Take an active role in the development of annual business plans.
• Review and summarize technical documents.
• Assist in preparing presentations and reports for management.
• Conduct monthly analyze and store data and provide report on VPS Journey.
• Ensure a high level of quality in all presentations and analyses, while working in a great learning environment
• Collaborate with Strategy members, business executives and their teams to perform research and analysis related to top priority strategic initiatives across VBM

About You

Education:

• Currently enrolled in BS/MS programs in a Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering background is preferred
• Strong Excel and communication skills (e-mail and verbal)
• Demonstrating a commitment to your personal learning
• Driven to continuously learn from experiences and seek out feedback and development opportunities
• A college or university degree (preferably in Business, Engineering or other equivalent)
• Demonstrated analytical skills \xe2\x80\x93 performing quantitative and financial analyses
• High motivational level, intellectual curiosity, and openness to learning
• Strong verbal and written presentation skills \xe2\x80\x93 including PowerPoint
