We're looking for an
Engineering Co-op Student
to join our Athabasca Oriented-Strand Board division, located in
Slave Lake, Alberta
. This state-of-the-art facility has the longest continuous press In North America, giving us the ability to produce a diverse range of innovative forest products such as Laminated Strand Lumber (LSL) and Engineered Wood Products (EWP) for customers around the world.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
Current enrollment in an
Engineering
or Wood Science.
Excellent
communication skills.
Mechanical aptitude
and understanding of machines.
A passion for technology and innovation.
Strong
organizational
,
analytical, and report writing skills
.
Ability to
work independently
and use own resources to
find innovative solutions
to new problems.

In this role, you will:
Support the
Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED)
program.
Generate data showing long term trends.
Standardize
data collection
across our SBB mills.
Be driven to find
solutions
and look for ways to
improve processes
.
Be responsible for recommending methods to improve safety, quality, throughput, and uptime, and will provide support to technical team.
Have opportunities to work with numerous departments across the mill.
