Job Description

Clean Harbors in Breslau, Ontario, is currently looking for (Co-Op student) Refinery Operator, to join their safety-conscious team! This position is a learning opportunity. The duties will consist primarily of managing the utilities in the refinery - wastewater, tank farm, and boilers. Steam time will be awarded as appropriate, and these hours will be eligible for candidates looking for Class 3 or Class 2 Stationary Engineering certification.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reads processing schedules, operating logs, test results of oil samples, and laboratory recommendations to determine changes in equipment controls required to produce specified quantity and quality of product. Moves and positions controls, such as knobs, valves, switches, levers, and index arms, on control panels to control process variables (i.e flows, temperatures, pressures, vacuum, time, catalyst, and chemicals) by automatic regulation and remote control of processing units (ie. heaters, furnaces, compressors, exchangers, reactors, quenchers, stabilizers, fractionators, rechargers, absorbers, strippers, debutanizers, stills, and towers) Will focus on utilities such as management of Wastewater Treatment system, Tank Farm rounds, and Boilers Will accrue Steam Time as appropriate as this position will work closely with our 3 boilers, each of which operate at 120 psi steam Other Duties as Assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

High School + at least 1 year of a college program focused on Stationary Engineering 4th Class or 3rd Class Stationary Engineering certification Attention to detail. Basic math knowledge. Verbal/written communication skills Knowledge of process equipment (Pumps, Motors, Valves, Piping, Instrumentation) Computer skills Emergency response experience is considered an asset
