BBA is a national, employee-owned multi-disciplinary engineering and services firm with offices coast-to-coast, in the US and abroad. We have an established Power & Renewables business line which comprises of Transmission & Distribution (T&D), Wind & Solar, Storage, Hydropower and Industrial Power groups. We wish to strengthen our position in the T&D and Power Markets segment across Canada. In this intermediate leadership role, the Manager- T&D and Power Markets will be responsible for developing large scale T&D opportunities all across Canada and executing strategic projects.
The suitable person will leverage their expertise, industry-knowledge, client relationships and engineering experience to achieve our objectives. This position\xe2\x80\x99s focus will be to enable solidify and grow our T&D markets presence, supporting the Director - T&D, and lead unique large scale transmission, distribution and storage projects.
BBA is a matrix organization, and the T&D business line has a national focus. It is responsible for defining the strategy and overall sector performance. The business line relies on BBA\xe2\x80\x99s operational teams and disciplines located across Canada for execution of its mandates and projects, while at times directly managing and executing certain strategic projects.

Lead strategic T&D and Energy Storage projects while ensuring compliance with contracts, code, regulatory requirements and best practices.
Liaise with other Project Managers, Discipline Leads and Team Leads to develop effective project/ program plans, processes, procedures, and schedules.
Liaise with T&D customers, independent power producers (IPPs), generation developers, power utilities and regulatory bodies to build strong technical solutions and nurture long-term relationships.
Develop Transmission and Distribution project opportunities involving electrical substations, high voltage transmission lines, medium voltage distribution lines, customer substations and energy storage projects, nationally.
Respond to customer Request for Proposals (RFPs) for strategic projects through creative thinking and alternative approaches and win-strategies.
Support execution of the market strategy and annual action plans.
Act as subject matter expert in T&D markets providing crucial technical, markets and technology expertise.
Provide technical leadership, guidance, mentorship and support to local and national engineering teams.
Provide team innovation by bringing together knowledge, best practices and planning functions while working in conjunction with the Director \xe2\x80\x93 T&D to implement long-term market sector objectives and strategies.
Build and nurture strong professional relationships within your external professional circles and across the power and renewables markets across Canada and the US.
Identify any capability gaps and implement teaming requirements needed to win.

Overview of certifications and job requirements
Engineering degree from a recognized university and registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) within a Canadian Province, with electrical or mechanical disciplines being preferred; or a suitable combination of qualification(s) in a relevant discipline and applicable experience.
At least 10 years of relevant power sector / electricity industry experience
Minimum of 3 or more years in the technical consulting, transmission or distribution utilities, generation development industries with a project execution and/or operations experience.
Project Management proficiency including experience leading projects and managing project teams to deliver on project objectives within established constraints.
Strong market knowledge of renewable energy, vertical utilities and/ or wholesale power markets specifically in subsets of transmission and distribution engineering disciplines, including, but not limited to protection- control, lines design, substation design, smart grids, power automation, energy storage, thermal or renewable generation.
Experience in T&D equipment selection, bid specifications, land and environmental issues, permitting, electrical studies, etc.
Strong communications, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Able to travel to domestic and international destinations.
Construction/Commissioning supervision and/or coordination experience
Power generation and/or power utility \xe2\x80\x93 high and medium voltage experience
Strong personal network within the power and/or renewable energy sector
Budgeting, estimating and/or scheduling experience.
Asset : Bilingual (English and French).
