How will you make an impact?

Our Laboratory Automation group is looking for a talented Quality Specialist to join the Operations team. You will be a member of our team helping our major customers in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology fields in accelerating their development of drug discovery and synthetic biology. You will play an important role in collaborating with the operations team in making sure our Robotic platforms leaving out the door are meeting our internal and external standards. This will involve performing incoming, in-process and final inspection on the products and support maintaining our ISO 9001 QMS program by performing quality system related activities such as vendor audits, managing gauge calibrations, documentation of Procedures and standard work and implementation of corrective actions.

What will you do:

  • Perform Visual and Dimensional Inspection on the finished product, and ensure all nonconforming product(s) are identified and segregated appropriately
  • Responsible for recording and documenting all inspection results
  • Responsible for verifying samples and monitoring quality of components/ products manufactured by vendors
  • Initiate NCR\'s for Noncompliant Product and Processes and actively participate in the follow up and resolution
  • Manage Gauge calibration program
  • Assist in writing and reviewing Quality Management System (QMS) Procedures and Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs)
  • Assist in Process audits, Vendor Qualification and Vendor audits
  • Perform other duties as assigned
How will you get here:

\xe2\x80\x8b Education and Experience:
  • College Diploma in Science, Manufacturing or related field of study
  • Minimum 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 relevant work experience
  • 3-4 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality control, preferably in a manufacturing environment such as Automotive, Medical device manufacturing or Aerospace industry
  • Previous Technical Writing experience and ASQ certifications is an asset
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Self-driven, demonstrated ownership and responsibility
  • Able to work well within a team setting as well as independently
  • Ability to structure and prioritize work tasks according to set deadlines and make independent decisions where required
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings
  • Ability to operate basic measurement equipment/ instruments
  • Previous working experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) will be considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements
  • Strong communication skills are a key requirement (verbal/ written)
  • Proficient in MS office application suites
Other Requirements:
  • Valid Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License
  • Able to travel to vendor sites across GTA and Southwestern Ontario up to 10% of the time
