Our dedicated professionals help ensure the quality, safety, and sustainability of electrical products used by people throughout the world.What are we looking for?The Engineer - Gas Special Inspections position is responsible for evaluation and field inspection of medium/large scale fuel-fired equipment used in oil & gas, mining, manufacturing and commercial HVAC industries. The inspection is performed based on Canadian gas safety standards and the equipment\'s specifications.Salary & Benefits InformationThe base wage or salary range for this position is $38.65 - $62.50 hourly. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.   • Provide technical support to sales team to determine the scope of new projects and develop pricing estimates and project timelines.
  • Directly works with the Fuel SI program lead and represents the Fuel SI program through the field inspections.
  • Review process data, P&ID, Drawings, BOM and \xe2\x80\x9csequence of operations\xe2\x80\x9d documents on the path to equipment approvals for the client
  • Conduct Gas field inspections at clients\' locations throughout North America with focus on western Canada locations
  • Review Fuel SI application forms from potential clients and recommend the most effective path towards certification/approvals for the fuel fired equipment.
  • Conduct reviews and provide process improvements based on Canadian safety standards.
  • Attend technical or industry association meetings and develop networking with the current and future clients.
  • Travel to various client sites in North America, may also involve some overseas travel.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in engineering
  • 2+ years\' experience in oil & gas process equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience with oil & gas process equipment.
  • Required - registration as a Professional Engineer (PEng) OR eligibility for registration in BC, Alberta and QC.
  • Familiar with North American oil & gas safety codes and standards including CSA B149 Series, UL, ANSI, NFPA, ISO.
  • Hands-on experience in process instrumentation and process control including safeguard control systems and PLC.
  • Strong organizational, written and oral communication skills and computer skills
  • Be able to work independently and to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel 75%
  • A valid driver\'s license and reliable driving record. is required.
Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Mechanical or Electrical engineering
  • Experience in manufacturing and operations of BMS (Burner Management Systems), gas heaters, evaporators and furnaces.
  • Experience with Oil & Gas sites and safety requirements in those sites including applicable PPE. safety training including HAZLOC and H2S.
