Engineer, Electrical - High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC)

Key Responsibilities:





Provide engineering design and operational support for Electrical systems and equipment with respect to HVDC Specialties.



Prepare and/or provide support for the preparation of technical specifications, drawings, schematics, wiring lists, equipment lists and work packages.



Participate in developing electrical design standards and guidelines.



Maintains a current knowledge of the latest electrical engineering equipment and design techniques applicable to the technical and operational areas of both existing and future requirements.



Assist with troubleshooting operational issues with HVDC equipment and systems and may be required to supervise Hydro and Contractor personnel in the solution of these problems.



Provide technical support to assist with preparation and execution of predictive maintenance programs, capital and operating projects, and overall asset management.



Complete detailed analysis of electrical equipment/system failures and anomalies to determine root causes.

Solution oriented and demonstrated creative thinking.



Must be able to work in a collaborative/supportive manner with stakeholders.



What You'll Need:





Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or other forms of education within a related field.



Minimum of four (4) years' experience in a related or comparable role.



Membership or eligibility for membership with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL) would be an asset.



Familiarity with Canadian Electrical Code, CSA, ANSI, and IEEE Standards.
