We are currently looking for an

Engagement Advisor

to join our

Eastern Clean Energy Initiative (ECEI)

team.

The

Engagement Advisor

is responsible for supporting the development and execution of strategic engagement and public consultation plans for large-scale projects and other corporate initiatives, including engagement and communications plans for specific stakeholder groups. This role requires understanding and experience in stakeholder engagement, public consultation and communications planning and execution. Reporting to the Manager, Engagement, you will participate in a variety of community and stakeholder engagement initiatives related to major infrastructure projects, helping ensure engagement activities are well-planned, executed effectively, and aligned with both organizational objectives and community priorities.
Key elements of this role include::
Support the development and execution of comprehensive stakeholder engagement and communications plans for high-profile, large-scale projects across the province, ensuring alignment with project goals and organizational objectives. Draft messaging, presentations, speaking remarks and other engagement and communication materials tailored to various stakeholder groups, community members and key project partners. Help research, identify and anticipate any public risks/ impacts for major projects, implementing solutions into stakeholder engagement plans. Implement public consultation and engagement activities for various stakeholder groups and communities. Monitor and report engagement activities, results, inquiries, and issues for large-scale projects and draft monthly reports for project team, senior leadership and key project partners. Coordinate community events (such as open houses, town halls, etc.), stakeholder meetings, presentations and other engagements, ensuring project engagements are well planned and executed on time and on budget. Manage content on project webpages, ensuring they are kept up-to-date and relevant. Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring proactive and transparent communication throughout all project phases, in coordination with other key project leads. Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Corporate Communications, Government Relations, and Mi'kmaq Relations to develop engagement materials and plan events.

These skills will make you successful::
A degree or diploma in Business Administration, Public Relations, Political Science, Communications, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5 years of professional experience working in a community and stakeholder engagement role. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences and mediums. Strong understanding of community engagement principles and how they integrate with communications strategies, including familiarity with IAP2 engagement principles. Prior knowledge of the energy industry, regulatory and political landscape in Nova Scotia. Ability to work with a cross-functional team and build positive working relationships. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Comfortable on a construction site, with prior experience visiting or working on project sites. Frequent travel within the province may be required.
