Requires an Enforcement Officer - Posting #CSJ-2021-05(Canada Summer Jobs)Canada Summer Jobs- The program provides wage subsidies to employers from not-for-profit organizations, the public sector, and private sector organizations with 50 or fewer full-time employees, to create quality summer work experiences for young people aged 15 to 30 years. Funded employers are not restricted to hiring students — all youth aged 15 to 30 years may be eligible participants.Position ResponsibilitiesThe incumbent will enforce municipal regulatory by-laws, as assigned. This will include Parking, Noise, Burn Bylaw, Trailer, Animal Control, etc. They will be responsible for patrolling and responding to by-law enforcement issues; including dog off leash, open air fires without a permit, trailers placed on vacant lots without trailer permit, ATV trail complaints, campsites' erected on municipal property and parking concerns. Under direction from the Chief Building Official/By-law Enforcement Officer, the incumbent will issue violation tickets, lay charges under various by-laws, and will maintain an appropriate notebook and photographic records.Education/Qualifications Post-secondary education in Advanced Law Enforcement and Investigations, Police Foundations, Law & Security Administration program or a related discipline. Students returning to an Advanced Law Enforcement and Investigations program will be considered. One year experience in law enforcement or in the interpretation and administration of municipal regulatory by-laws (such as noise, parking, etc.), or other acceptable work experience would be considered an asset. Above average communication (verbal & written), interpersonal, customer service, organizational, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
