What can I expect as an Enforcement Officer?
As the successful candidate, you will be a part of a diverse and inclusive team with opportunities for personal and professional growth. We also provide comprehensive training in a positive learning environment. You will be a member of an interdisciplinary team who manages large, diverse caseloads. You can expect to use your organizational and communication skills to anticipate client needs and maximize professional client service. In addition, the ability to adapt to multiple demands and shifting priorities will contribute to your success in the role. In our world, no day is ever the same, but you can expect a typical day to include some combination of the following:
  • Effectively communicating with clients over the phone and in writing to establish productive relationships.
  • Contributing to positive, respectful working relationships within the team, based on mutual support and encouragement.
  • Prioritizing daily workload and managing case files to ensure appropriate actions are taken.
  • Gathering information from a variety of sources to make decisions that are well informed and administratively fair.
  • Documenting and maintaining accurate information within a client database to support ongoing case management.
  • Keeping up to date regarding relevant legislation, policies and procedures relating to the BCFMA.
  • Ensuring all communication meets privacy and information management guidelines.

What education and experience will you need to be successful?
  • Post-secondary education which includes a minimum two-year college diploma or equivalent supplemented by ongoing professional development would be considered an asset.
  • A minimum three years\xe2\x80\x99 experience working in a high volume, client-centered work environment, ideally in financial, legal, or justice services would be considered an asset.
  • Proficient computer skills which includes keyboarding skills, accessing databases, conducting internet research, and using MS Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Teams)
  • Prior case management experience which includes building client trust and rapport would be considered an asset.

The starting salary for this position is $53,057 per year. This is a unionized position and is covered by the BCGEU/BCFMA collective agreement. An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
