This Energy Transition Financial Performance Analyst is responsible for providing insightful financial and market analytics that provide clear visibility to business performance and enable data-driven decisions that will promote the advancement of Grow for Tomorrow (GFT) initiatives.

This is a key role that helps drive business case development with a wider team, integrating conventional measures of anticipated performance along with additional measures linked to driving our corporate strategy and achieving our long-term sustainability goals. This role helps lead and support the application of an appropriately common view of financial modelling across the program and maintain an active and ongoing relationship with stakeholders and teams within the Finance Organization. This role offers an opportunity to work both at a detailed level and as a thought partner at a strategic level. This role is a key point of contact for the strategic pillar leads in supporting the execution of our Energy Transition Strategy.


The role will also operate within a hybrid work model, which will offer you the ability work from home a portion of your week and then make use of in-person office days to collaborate and build strong professional relationships; all within a beautiful modern office environment.

Your Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Support the development and implementation of financial governance processes around efforts of team, including ensuring data quality, consistent use of supporting financial systems, compliance with financial policies, and development of quality reporting for stakeholders.
  • Support the delivery of a robust stewardship process to understand and track financial performance and modeling ensure alignment with GFT steering and core business as required.
  • Deep integration into early and later stage business case development to help support effective GFT decision-making
  • Support the development of an overall process for understanding and building a portfolio view of initiatives within this new team, and their implications to rest of the business
  • Conduct financial and performance analytics on base business and growth opportunities to help drive improvements and decisions.
  • Develop and manage financial KPI\xe2\x80\x99s for the GFT program and initiatives
  • Perform independent data gathering or work collaboratively with other internal teams to support various consulting engagements.
  • Support analyses (including that of industry innovation, new and emerging markets, competitive analysis, and government policy) to provide valuable benchmarking and timely insights to internal stakeholders to drive the business planning process, development, and implementation of long-term strategic initiatives
  • Provide recommendations in the area of business development (including new & emerging markets and/or mergers & acquisitions, viability of partnerships).
  • Actively engage with various divisions within the business to support idea generation, internal alignment and project execution.
  • Be a thinking partner to and develop relationships with business leaders by providing support on strategic and base business initiatives.
  • In combination with relevant internal functions, help to model and understand implications of various strategic decisions on our ESG and other sustainability goals
  • On occasion, participate in various forms of strategic communication efforts on specific initiatives

Travel:
  • Some travel may be required for this role from time to time.


Education and experience:
  • Degree in business, economics, engineering or accounting is required (Masters degree would be considered an asset)
  • Professional designation such as CPA would be considered an asset
  • 5+ years of experience in Finance or Operations.
  • Understanding of project risks and project planning/scheduling
  • Understanding of and experience with project metrics and KPIs
  • Experience preparing project progress reports and dashboards
