Employment Specialist/Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist - Calgary, Chinook

Calgary Chinook is a fast paced, high performance team that produces outstanding outcomes for patients and stakeholders. Our focus is providing the gold standard in patient centered care with the objective of improved function and return to work for individuals with mild to severe brain injury or other neurological injury. We are seeking a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist to deliver on a range of vocational services including assessment services, Vocational Interest and Aptitude Testing, job search skills, resume and cover letter development, individualized job placement services and client file management.

Responsibilities will include:

• Providing comprehensive and structured return to work planning
• Interview clients;
• Evaluate clients\' progress in resolving identified problems and movement towards defined objectives
• Conduct research;
• Write reports ( assessment, follow up, progress );
• Facilitate groups
• Utilize computer skills to complete scheduling duties
• Communication with an interdisciplinary team

Qualifications:

• Completed University Degree in a relevant field of study
• Experience in counselling, vocational rehabilitation and employment programs is an asset
• Highly developed organizational skills and have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong customer service skills and professionalism.
• Work under pressure; Tight deadlines; Ability to manage a large caseload.
• Reading text; Document use; Problem Solving; Decision making; Critical thinking; Job task planning and organizing;
• Experience working with clients with adult onset disabilities and familiarity with the impact medical restrictions have on clients\xe2\x80\x99 abilities to seek and secure work
• Experience developing and conducting results oriented job search skills programs and individualized placement services, within budget and timeline expectations
• Transferable skills expertise and knowledge of local labour market research experience required
• Excellent ability to follow through on plans and remain organized
• Commitment to ongoing and timely communication with vested parties
• Superior writing abilities and organization to keep reporting current
• Demonstrated ability to easily establish rapport with clients is a must
