Employer Engagement Specialist - Halifax

Position: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)

Salary: $55,000 annually + benefits

Contract: Until March 2027 (with potential for extension)

About Inclusion Nova Scotia and Ready, Willing and Able

Inclusion Nova Scotia is a leading provincial non-profit dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Through advocacy, empowerment, and community partnerships, we help build inclusive workplaces and communities. We deliver the Ready, Willing & Able (RWA) initiative--a national program that has helped over 4,000 individuals on the autism spectrum or with intellectual disabilities find meaningful employment.

Driving Inclusive Hiring Through Strategic Employer Engagement

As our Employer Engagement Specialist, you'll be the face of RWA in Nova Scotia--leading outreach efforts, building strategic partnerships, and driving employer engagement across sectors. You'll act as a trusted advisor to businesses, helping them tap into a skilled and underrepresented talent pool while enhancing their diversity and inclusion efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Lead employer outreach: Initiate and nurture relationships with businesses across various industries to promote inclusive hiring practices. Sell the value of inclusion: Position inclusive employment as a strategic advantage for employers through compelling presentations, pitches, and one-on-one meetings. Match talent to opportunity: Collaborate with community agencies to connect employers with qualified candidates to support successful hirings. Build strategic partnerships: Develop and maintain relationships with employment service providers, chambers of commerce, and business networks to enhance your organization's reach and impact. Promote success stories: Capture and share impactful stories of inclusive hiring to inspire and influence others. Support marketing efforts: Contribute to national campaigns and amplify messaging.
What You Bring

Proven experience in sales, business development, or employer engagement. Strong communication and interpersonal skills--you're persuasive, empathetic, and confident. Knowledge of Nova Scotia's labour market and a passion for inclusive employment. Ability to deliver dynamic presentations and facilitate conversations with diverse audiences. Practiced using MS Office and CRM tools. Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle. Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience. Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.
