People Can Fly is one of the leading independent AAA games development studios with an international team of hundreds of talented individuals working from offices located in Poland, UK, US, and Canada, and from all over the world thanks to our remote work programs.

Founded in 2002, we made our mark on the shooter genre with titles such as Painkiller, Bulletstorm, Gears of War: Judgment, and Outriders. We are one of the most experienced Unreal Engine studios in the industry and we are expanding it with in-house solutions called PCF Framework.

Our creative teams are currently working on several exciting titles: Gemini is our new project being developed with Square Enix; Maverick is a Triple-A game developed in collaboration with Microsoft Corporation; Bifrost, Victoria and Dagger are projects we\'re growing in the self-publishing model. We also have one project in the concept phase - Red; as well as two projects in VR technology - Green Hell VR and Bulletstorm VR - an exciting VR version of our cult-classic shooter.

We are looking for a fully independent legal counsel who will run all aspects of employment related matters at People Can Fly group and provide practical, merit and comprehensive advice to People Can Fly group members (both Polish and those located in other jurisdictions such as UK, Ireland, US and Canada) on a range of legal and business matters related to broadly defined HR area (recruitment, employment, relocations, employee benefits, incentive programs).

You will work independently, very closely with the group HR and Recruitment Teams and the group Chief People Officer but you will ultimately report to People Can Fly General Counsel.

In your work you should bring open mind, solid legal knowledge, a strong work ethic and a full dedication. You should have the ability to cooperate with team members, to work with the teams across the organization as well as to operate independently. You should like developing, think logically and, occasionally, work well under pressure. Also, you should have good written, oral communication, and organizational skills.

We need a communicative, reliable and responsible person with attention to detail, ready to work hard on various HR related legal topics, who understand deadlines. We don\'t expect you to have a gaming background, but we do expect you to want to learn this particular niche. Your tasks will range from large projects having an impact on the entire People Can Fly group to everyday and routine tasks, and we expect you to treat each project with the same going-forward approach.

What You\'ll Do:

  • Draft and review a full range of employment related documents for the needs of our Polish and international studios (such as job offers, employment and civil-law contracts, , settlement agreements, terminations, work regulations, employment related procedures and policies, ongoing correspondence, etc.);
  • Draft and review contracts with external suppliers supporting the operations of the HR team;
  • Analyze business and legal conditions and the associated risks;
  • Verify the compliance of employment law documentation with internal policies, procedures and legal requirements;
  • Prepare legal analyses and research for the needs of ongoing projects;
  • Monitor changes in the employment laws applicable to the Group\'s activities and organization;
  • Support HR and Recruitment teams (both in Poland and abroad), in their ongoing projects and tasks. Cooperate with members of these teams to identify, analyze and deliver required legal support for the organization. Participate in internal team meetings as well as meetings with external advisors, as needed;
  • Cooperate with, and coordinate the work of external legal advisors (from both Polish and other jurisdictions) on employment matters, as needed;
  • Support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal procedures in People Can Fly Group within the scope of hiring processes;
  • Such other duties and responsibilities of a similar grade and nature as may be required.
Qualifications
  • Law master degree and the status of the legal counsel (attorney-at law (radca prawny) or advocate (adwokat)).
  • 8+ yrs of employment law experience (preferably in the international law firm or as an in-house in international organization).
  • Strong work ethic and professional attitude.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, on law and practice relating to employment law.
  • Ability to work under pressure and with limited supervision.
  • Proven ability to implement and deliver complex and challenging solutions which are consistent with existing, new or evolving policy/procedure.
  • Demonstrative knowledge of the application, principles, theory and practice of the specialist area of responsibility.
  • Ability to apply technical/specialist judgement to ensure service area objectives are achieved.
  • Ability to plan and organise a range of complex activities and priorities within a focused area of service.
  • IT skills including ability to use Google or MS Office suite of applications.
  • Advanced English (both verbal and written).
