Employment Facilitator



Terms of Employment: Full Time Term Position (40hr/week) Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Contract starts Sep 2, 2025 and ends Aug 31, 2026 (with potential for renewal upon funding)

Position Summary



The Employment Facilitator is responsible for delivering employment services to the program participants and CMWI clients. The main role of the Employment Facilitator is to conduct one-on-one career counselling, develop resumes, and facilitate group workshops to prepare and connect newcomers to the labor market. This includes: job search techniques, applications, networking, job interviews including mock interviews, working safely, employers' expectations and Canadian workplace culture. She also collaborates with other staff and management to ensure employment services are delivered keeping in sight the vision, mission, and values of CMWI.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:



Employment Services



Conduct needs assessment of applicants' job skills, aptitude, barriers, and goals Conduct phone screening and in person candidates' intakes Develop and deliver resume and cover letter services Coach participants on job search techniques, applications and job interviews including mock interviews, employers' expectations and Canadian workplace culture Refer participants to employers and advocate on their behalf to facilitate employment Assist participants with all employment-related matters up until employment and afterwards Deliver workshops on a wide variety of settlement and employment topics including digital literacy, and English conversation circles. Support and follow up with applicants on job search during and after completion of the training program Assist the training instructors, support staff, and consultants for successful program delivery

Employer Liaison



Establish contact with different employers Contact employers to request tours, presentations, and practicums for program participants Maintain a roster of current and potential employers Regularly get feedback from employers on applicants hired Deliver presentations on diversity and cultural awareness

Administrative support, documentation, and reporting



Provide administrative support for the employment training as needed Facilitate purchasing process for workshop supplies Coordinate with other instructors Maintain accurate documentation of applicants, participants, and services provided Update the organization and the funders database for record keeping Provide written and verbal reports to funder, supervisor, and management

Qualifications



Experience delivering career coaching services and facilitating employment-related workshops Experience assisting clients with a variety of job search techniques and methods Client-focused, with ability to empathize with the needs of newcomers from diverse cultural backgrounds Knowledge of issues facing newcomers and EIA recipients Strong written and verbal communication skills knowledge of settlement service and community organizations Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Strong ability to work independently and as a team member Non-judgmental and accepting attitude, with the ability to maintain confidentiality
This position requires the successful completion of a Criminal Record Check including vulnerable sector.
