The Employment Counsellor will provide a transition to employment services for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities in the Miramichi/Neguac region.

Roles & Responsibilities include:
Develop personalized employment action plans that outline specific goals and action steps for individuals seeking employment;
Identify potential job opportunities and career paths tailored to an individual's abilities and aspirations;
Provide training and support to help individuals acquire and improve job-related skills;
Facilitate job placements by matching individuals with suitable employers and job opportunities;
Advocate on behalf of individuals with employers, advocating for reasonable accommodations as necessary.
Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, employment agencies, and disability service providers;
Regularly monitor individuals progress in their jobs and provide ongoing support as needed;
Conduct workshops, seminars, or informational sessions for the community to raise awareness about the employment needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field.
Proficiency in computer applications for record-keeping and job searching.
Knowledge of local labor markets and employment resources.
Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle necessary for daily work-related duties and ability to travel within the service area;
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Current and Valid Criminal Record & Vulnerable Persons Check;
Fluently Bilingual (French and English) is mandatory.
