About the Role
Enoch Cree Nation is seeking a dedicated and experienced Employee Relations Lead to join our Human Resources team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing employee relations across the organization, fostering a positive and respectful work environment, and ensuring the fair and consistent application of HR policies.
You will act as a strategic partner to leadership and staff, offering expert guidance on conflict resolution, performance management, workplace investigations, and compliance with labor laws. Key Responsibilities
o
Serve as the primary contact for employee relations concerns and conflict resolution.
o
Conduct thorough investigations into workplace complaints including harassment, discrimination, and policy violations.
o
Provide coaching to managers and employees on performance issues, disciplinary actions, and policy interpretation.
o
Ensure compliance with all employment laws, internal policies, and regulatory standards.
o
Maintain accurate documentation of all employee relations activities and investigations.
o
Collaborate with HR leadership to update and implement ER policies and practices.
o
Analyze trends and metrics to recommend proactive strategies for improving employee engagement.
o
Lead training sessions for management on employee relations and compliance.
o
Support organizational change and cultural initiatives.
o
Supervise and guide branch HR representatives across the Nation.
o
Provide hands-on support with complex employee relations cases and terminations.
o
Drive continuous improvement through employee engagement, rewards, and recognition programs.
Qualifications
o
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (Advanced degree or HR certifications preferred).
o
Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience with a strong focus on employee relations.
o
In-depth understanding of labor laws and HR best practices.
o
Proven experience managing sensitive and complex employee issues with professionalism.
o
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills.
o
Strong analytical and conflict resolution abilities.
o
Experience working in dynamic or culturally diverse organizations is a strong asset.
o
Familiarity with HRIS systems such as UKG.

Conditions of Employment
o
Standard work schedule: Monday to Friday, 830 - 430 (with a one-hour paid lunch break); flexibility to work evenings/weekends as needed.
o
Primary location: Enoch Cree Nation Band Office, with occasional travel to various sites.
o
Physical fitness required (ability to walk, climb stairs, lift up to 50 lbs, etc.).
o
A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required.
o
Must sign and adhere to the Enoch Cree Nation Confidentiality Agreement upon hire.
