A role you will love

This role will operate within the People Services & Delivery function and be responsible for activity across CPU business lines.

The role holder will therefore be required to work across multiple business units within the scope of their jurisdiction, each of which will have specific requirements from an Employee Relations perspective.

Accountable for the provision of Employee Relations advice and coaching to managers within the jurisdictions. To provide support and expertise to people change programs. To participate in projects to improve the offering of the ER function, or to review the compliance/ appropriateness of policies and approaches through the provision of relevant expertise.

  • Case Management: Provide managers with support on employee concerns to ensure matters are resolved quickly and effectively and in compliance with the relevant CPU policies.
  • Case Management: Ensure cases are escalated and referred to the relevant teams where matters are highly complex, or involve high risk, in line with agreed escalation matrices.
  • Case Management: Maintain integrity of records and documentation required for employee relations issues.
  • Case Management: Partner with legal department and external advisors (where required) to solve complex ER issues and keep abreast of the changing legal landscape to ensure these are effectively implemented into company policies and procedures.
  • Jurisdictional Expertise: Provide or ensure delivery of specialist advice and coaching to managers and employees to implement Employee Relations processes and policies, ensuring there is alignment across the organization and that jurisdictional compliance is ensured with all advice provided.
  • Business Change: Deliver allocated ER activities within change programs across the organizations, collaborating with colleagues to ensure people changes are effectively managed and implemented.
  • Global Policies: Provide advice and input to wider People policies to ensure regulatory/ legal compliance. Provide jurisdiction specific legal/regulatory update to global policies where local variance is required for regional compliance.

The role holder will manage employee cases and concerns within their jurisdictional remit and contribute as part of global project teams. There will be a number of key relationships needed in this role both internally and externally:

Internal:
  • Employees

  • Legal and Compliance Teams
  • People Business Partners
External:
  • External HR Forums / Groups
  • External Outsourced Providers such as ER Case Management Procedures
We are looking for people with these skills:
  • Relevant professional HR qualification or significant ER case management/litigation experience
  • Knowledge of relevant employment law / regulatory impacts with background of implementation. US exposure preferred but open to sole Canadian exposure as well
  • Effective Communication
  • Knowledge of Organization would be considered a plus
  • Proven ability to Manage and support Relationships across a global organization
  • Consulting experience
  • People Policies, Standards and Procedures is needed

Compensation: $65,000.00 – $80,000.00 USD
