Watsons Home Hardware Building Centre is a lumber and building material retailer with multiple locations across Southwestern Ontario. With family roots dating back to 1975, Watsons is committed to nurturing the families of their employees, customers and local communities.
The Employee Relations and Recruitment Coordinator will be responsible for the recruitment and selection of new employees at all locations, as well as ensuring a safe and positive work environment for all staff. The successful candidate will be required to work in office on a full-time basis.
Manage full-cycle recruitment process from creating job posting to offer acceptance
Coordinate new hire orientation and HR onboarding documentation
Coordinate company training and maintain training records
Manage company policies and procedures and update as required
Serve as a primary contact for all safety matters and liaison with JHSC at all locations
Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Ontario) and related regulations
Report Workplace Injuries to WSIB and manage employee RTW programs, as needed
Support performance management cycles, improvement plans and training initiatives
Work with management to maintain positive employee engagement and retention
Assist with coordinating company events
Assist with terminations and conducting exit interviews as needed
Manage ad hoc assignments as needed
Other duties as assigned
Qualification & Experience
Diploma in Human Resources, Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred
A minimum 3-5 years of HR experience in retail or an industrial setting preferred
Strong working knowledge of Ontario ESA, OHSA, WSIB reporting and related provincial requirements
Excellent interpersonal skills, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
Valid drivers license in good standing
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00-$32.00 per hour
