Position Summary



NurseAmerica is seeking a

compassionate and skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

in Edmonton, AB to join a leading healthcare facility in

Watertown, New York

.

The ER RN will provide high-quality, efficient, and evidence-based care in a

fast-paced, high-acuity emergency environment

, managing patients across all age groups with medical, surgical, and trauma-related conditions. This role is ideal for nurses who thrive under pressure, possess excellent critical thinking skills, and are committed to exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities



Perform

rapid assessment and triage

of incoming patients to determine care priorities. Provide care for a wide range of emergency conditions -- medical, surgical, trauma, cardiac, and psychiatric. Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments per provider orders. Monitor and interpret vital signs, diagnostic results, and patient condition continuously. Initiate and assist with

ACLS

,

PALS

, and

trauma protocols

when indicated. Stabilize critical patients and prepare them for transfer or admission. Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff. Educate patients and families on care plans once the patient is stabilized. Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EHR. Maintain readiness for codes, trauma activations, and mass casualty events. Adhere to infection control, safety, and hospital policy standards.

Qualifications



Active, unrestricted

New York RN license

. Graduate of an

accredited School of Nursing

.

BLS

and

ACLS

certifications required (American Heart Association).

PALS

,

TNCC

, or

ENPC

preferred, depending on patient population. Minimum

1-2 years of acute care experience

, with at least

1 year in Emergency Department

preferred. Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and communication skills. Ability to multitask and perform effectively in high-stress, time-sensitive situations.
