The Emergency Response Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and preparedness of our organization in the face of potential emergencies. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining emergency management plans and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of emergency management principles to effectively coordinate response efforts and training initiatives.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency management plans that align with local, territorial, and federal regulations.
Coordinate training programs for staff on emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation strategies.
Lead drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency plans and improve organizational readiness.
Collaborate with local agencies, organizations, and stakeholders to enhance community preparedness efforts.
Monitor and assess potential risks to the organization, providing recommendations for risk reduction strategies.
Prepare reports and documentation related to emergency management activities for review by senior leadership.
Assist with management of the health, safety and security system
Work as a team member to ensure continual improvement of site safety
Assist with proactive processes and risk mitigation including participation in JHA and HAZOP activities
Conduct basic incident investigations and assist with more in depth investigations to determine root cause and make recommendations for corrective action.
Experience
Proven experience in emergency management or a related field is essential.
Strong leadership abilities with a track record of successfully managing teams during crisis situations.
Familiarity with emergency response protocols, disaster recovery processes, and risk assessment methodologies.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
Experience working collaboratively with diverse groups including government agencies, non-profits, and community organizations is preferred. This position requires a proactive individual who is committed to enhancing safety measures within our organization while fostering a culture of preparedness among all employees.
Ability to use the full Microsoft office suite efficiently.
