Job Description

Ontario Pork is looking for a Emergency Farm Plan Coordinator to join our team on a contract basis. As part of on-farm emergency planning and preparedness initiatives, you will work with pork producers to help develop on-farm emergency plans.
Responsibilities The ideal candidate would be responsible for a variety of the administrative duties in the office, and needs to be self-motivated, a quick learner, and have an extremely strong attention to detail to be successful in the role.
Job duties include:

• Working directly with producers, industry and government partners via phone, teleconference, email or in person
• Able to work both independently and with a team to achieve set goals and objectives
• Assist with arranging meetings, webinars and other information sessions
• Drafting emergency plan documents
• Preparing weekly progress reports to manager
• Data entry and uploading of plans into Ontario Pork's information systems
• Performing general clerical tasks
• Conducting general research associated with emergency response plans
• Communicating with other team members and stakeholders in a professional manner

Requirements

• College Diploma or University Degree in an agricultural program preferred
• Experience working in agriculture or can represent a solid agriculture background
• Well-organized, self-starter demeanor who sees a project through from start to finish and then goes looking for more
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and ability to proof and edit documents
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Friendly personality and the ability to work well with others and independently in order to meet deadlines
• Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritize conflicting priorities and manage work load
• High degree of attention to detail and ability to proof documents to catch inconsistencies
• Able to work in barns and outside as required
• Must be able to travel within Ontario with a minimum valid G2 license
• Able to comply with Ontario Pork’s COVID-19 protocols
