Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, Emergency Communications Centres, you will provide leadership, coaching and operational oversight to a team of shift-based supervisors. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, monitoring and reviewing the activities of our Police Dispatch teams, providing ongoing direction, advice and guidance.

In this highly visible position, you will have an active role in the planning and implementation of current business practices and policy development, supporting our frontline staff in meeting internal and agency requirements. You will identify and make recommendations related to service delivery issues, and will be accountable for understanding and improving operational metrics and KPIs.

An accomplished people leader, you will understand that the key to our success is our people. You will facilitate consultative staff input sessions, identify large-scale training needs and ensure alignment with our core values of respect, integrity, collaboration, accountability and service.

Bringing your understanding of emergency communications, you will develop and maintain effective working relationships with public safety partner agencies and external stakeholders.

What you will bring:
  • Previous experience in emergency communications, public safety or law enforcement would be highly desirable
  • 3-5 years\' experience in a people leadership role
  • Demonstrated experience coaching others to a higher level of performance
  • Ability to identify, address and resolve operational problems, and to participate in the development and implementation of policies, standards and procedures
  • Ability to provide assistance, resources and guidance to staff responding to unusual events, and to exercise sound judgement in emergency situations
  • Leadership training and familiarity with operational excellence and change management methodologies
  • Completion of a degree/diploma program in business administration from a recognized post-secondary institute, and sound experience of a progressively more responsible nature within an operational call centre or an emergency communications centre

Security Requirements:

As a condition of employment at E-Comm, the required Police Security Clearance applicable to the position must be acquired and maintained. This is a process carried out by our law enforcement partner agencies, facilitated by E-Comm. The minimum residency in Canada to qualify for this position, as established by our law enforcement partner agencies, is roughly 3 to 5 years.

To qualify for this process, a candidate may be either a Canadian Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen. We regret any candidates under Student, Visitor, or Work Visas are not eligible for consideration.

E-Comm offers a competitive salary of between $ 91,689 and $ 107,870 (2022 rates), plus an excellent benefits package. This position is based in Vancouver and whilst there is some flexibility, this role requires an onsite presence due to the nature of our work.
