Embedded Electronics and Robotics Technician (Electro-Optical PTZ Systems)

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Electronics and Robotics Technician to join our team and contribute to upcoming projects focused on the development, optimization, and production of our electro-optical PTZ platforms. This role requires an understanding of embedded electronics, robotics, and real-time control systems, particularly as they apply to precision positioning and sensor integration. Although programming experience is not a requirement, it is considered a valuable asset. Candidates with prior experience in electro-optics, video surveillance, robotics, motor control, and pan/tilt positioning systems will be given extra consideration.

Key Responsibilities:



Apply your technical expertise to the integration, testing, and assembly of advanced electro-optical PTZ systems. Conduct hands-on integration and rigorous testing of a diverse range of electro-optical sensors, including visible/NIR, thermal (MWIR and LWIR), and SWIR, within our sophisticated embedded control platforms, and ensure precise assembly of PTZ units. Proactively troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software discrepancies within embedded systems and robotics to maintain peak performance of electro-optical systems. Validate and enhance the performance of critical control algorithms, ensuring our pan/tilt mechanisms achieve and maintain optimal accuracy and responsiveness. Develop and curate detailed technical documentation, facilitating seamless knowledge transfer and supporting the effective deployment and maintenance of our electro-optical PTZ platforms. Work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment with skilled mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers to bring advanced electro-optical PTZ systems to life.
What You'll Need to Succeed:

Core Embedded Electronics Expertise:

A solid understanding of embedded electronics principles and practices, ready to be applied to cutting-edge projects.

Robotics and Motor Control Proficiency:

Hands-on experience with microcontroller and microprocessor-based systems, specifically in the exciting fields of robotics and motor control.

Seamless Sensor and Actuator Communication:

Experience with serial communication interfaces (RS232, RS422, TTL, etc.) to ensure reliable sensor and actuator communication.

Motor Control Mastery:

Familiarity with a variety of motor control systems, including stepper motors, servo motors, and their associated drivers, to bring precision to our systems.

Embedded Linux and Real-Time Operating System Skills:

Experience with embedded Linux and real-time operating systems, enabling the development of high-performance, responsive systems.

Networking Fundamentals:

A working knowledge of TCP/IP networking concepts as they apply to embedded systems, ensuring seamless connectivity.

Embedded SBC and Hardware Debugging Prowess:

Proficiency with embedded SBC hardware (Raspberry Pi, Arduino, nVidia Jetson/Xavier/Orin, etc.) and the ability to effectively use hardware and software debugging tools.

Hands-On Electronics Assembly Experience:

Practical experience in assembling electronics, ideally with experience in areas like drones, robotics, or unmanned vehicles, showcasing your real-world skills.

Analytical and Troubleshooting Expertise:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on efficiently troubleshooting hardware and firmware issues.

Schematic and Datasheet Interpretation:

The ability to confidently read and interpret electronic schematics and datasheets.

Clear and Effective Communication:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for collaborating within a dynamic team.

Adaptability and Time Management:

The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines, demonstrating your adaptability and strong time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Assets):



Prior experience working with electro-optical systems and sensors (visible, thermal, SWIR). Practical experience implementing and troubleshooting video surveillance protocols (ONVIF, RTSP, Pelco D, etc.) within PTZ systems.. Hands-on experience with precision positioning systems and feedback control. In-depth knowledge of camera technology (f-stops, focal lengths, sensors, etc.).

Compensation:



Pay: $23.00-$28.00 per hour. Expected hours: 40-50 per week. Additional pay: Bonus pay, overtime pay.

Schedule:



8-hour shift. Day shift. Monday to Friday. Weekends as needed.
