Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Define requirements and specifications for software functionality and behaviors.
  • Design software architecture, algorithms, and interfaces for embedded and real-time systems.
  • Analyze software performance, reliability, and scalability through testing and simulation.
  • Develop, integrate, and manage software for system control, automation, and human-machine interaction.
  • Conduct software testing, including unit testing, integration testing, and validation in real-world scenarios.
  • Provide technical support for software applications, including bug fixes, feature enhancements, and operator training.
  • Manage software configuration, quality management, and DevOps processes.
  • Assist in system integration, troubleshooting, and testing of hardware/software systems.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Create documentation and training materials and provide training to team members and clients.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers and EITs, reviewing and approving their work.
Essential Skills
  • Degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a relevant or related field.
  • Experience developing software for hardware applications.
  • Proficiency with Real-time Linux, ROS1, C++, Python, and other development environments.
  • Experience implementing real-time software.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in configuration management.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex technical projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentorship capabilities.
  • Analytical, thorough, resourceful, and detail-oriented.
  • Team and customer service focused.
  • Self-motivated, hardworking, and flexible.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with embedded C, firmware, embedded software, Linux, RTOS, and microcontrollers.
  • Technical documentation skills for specifications, requirements, design documents, test plans/reports, and operator manuals.
