Job Description
Located in Vernon, BC, VO2 Master researches, manufactures, and sells the world's first truly portable metabolic analyzer that makes athletes faster and improves weight development for everyone. We are seeking an experienced embedded systems engineer to grow our development team. The successful applicant will primarily work in developing firmware and software to support the function of the device. This will include writing firmware to implement new hardware, add data analysis algorithms, and improve the user interface. VO2 Master Analyzer consists of multiple circuit boards, many in-house 3D-printed plastic parts, and Bluetooth connection to a phone app. All is controlled through a complex code base requiring extensive algorithm testing and validation across a broad range of breathing inputs and environmental conditions. Understanding how these components work in unison is crucial in developing future product iterations.
Responsibilities
Develop C-based firmware solutions based on requirements, proven by extensive unit testing and validation. Develop C#, iOS and Android software based improvements. Organize and collaborate on firmware and software tickets in Git, driven by both development and research requirements. Design and execute engineering experiments to create workable solutions. Develop engineering calculations, diagrams, and technical reports. Present analysis results and project solutions to the technical lead
Required Skills
5-8+ years relevant work experience Bachelor's degree or greater in Engineering, preferably Electrical or similar. Extensive knowledge of code development with C, C#, iOS, Android, GitHub, and Visual Studio Code Experience building devices that include complex firmware, electrical, and mechanical elements.
Desired Skills
P.Eng. Leadership experience. Circuit design and prototyping experience, preferably in Circuit Studio. Previous experience developing wearable / health technology. Experience in data analysis with R or similar

Pay: $70,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
