n! biomachines, based in Burlington, is focused on the development and production of

Bioreactors and advanced machinery for cellular agriculture and precision fermentation. Our integrated Research and Development center within the same facility is an Ontario hub for innovation in bioprocess design and optimization, plant-based engineering, food technology and scaled alternative protein production.

Responsibilities



Lead the design, development, and testing of embedded hardware systems, including Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs). Perform circuit analysis, simulation, and testing to ensure the hardware meets functionality and performance requirements. Conduct electronic noise analysis and implement strategies to mitigate noise in sensor response data and the measurement systems. Perform testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of hardware and firmware to resolve technical issues and ensure product reliability. Conduct hardware architecture design, component selection, and system-level integration, with a focus on optimizing firmware-hardware integration. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., mechanical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing teams) to drive hardware development and system integration. Design and implement firmware tests, ensuring robust validation and seamless functionality between hardware and firmware. Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including schematics, design specifications, test reports, and firmware design documentation.

Required skills and qualifications



5+ years of experience in embedded systems hardware development, with a focus on creating high performance embedded systems. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Strong expertise in designing and analyzing both analog and digital circuits for embedded systems and electronic devices. Proficiency in PCB layout, design, and fabrication, and using industry design tools Proficiency in hardware simulation tools such as SPICE for circuit analysis and optimization. Experience with hardware-software integration and a strong focus on testing and validating embedded systems. Experience or knowledge in CMOS integration and MEMS is a plus. Experience in testing, debugging, and troubleshooting PCBs and embedded systems using tools such as oscilloscopes, and multimeters. Proficiency in programming for microcontrollers and embedded systems, with experience in C/C++ for firmware development. Experience with signal processing techniques and electronic noise mitigation in measurement systems. Experience in creating and maintaining technical documentation, including schematics, technical specifications, and test reports. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, mechanical, and manufacturing partners.
