Fixed-term contract starting on October 1st 2025 (with the possibility of a permanent contract after one year)
40 hours/week
You are in possession of a valid Canadian G driver's license
You have completed a secondary education, preferably related to mechanics or relevant experience
You have at least 5 years of prior professional experience in a similar role
You have strong command of English and French
You have a good sense of time management and organization skills
You are demanding, flexible, meticulous, and present yourself professionally
You show integrity, discretion, and professionalism
You are punctual, versatile, and adaptable to variable working hours
You comply with traffic regulations
You adhere to safety standards (loading and unloading procedures)
You show initiative and are capable of working independently within a motivated team
You are able to carry out minor maintenance and repair tasks
Basic skills in of?ce administrative practices and procedures, including the operation of standard of?ce equipment and computer applications (MS-of?ce: Excel, Word and Outlook) will be considered as an advantage
Accomplished driving training will be considered as an advantage
Under the supervision of the Head of Mission, you will perform the following tasks
:
Drive the Head of Mission, visitors, and official representatives
Ensure the technical and physical maintenance of the vehicle(s)
Ensure the cleanliness (inside and outside) of the vehicle(s) and monitor scheduled servicing
Maintain vehicle logbooks
Deliver mail, run errands, and make purchases for the official needs of the Embassy and Residence
Liaise with suppliers and manage supply transportation
Perform minor maintenance and repair tasks at the Embassy and Residence
Welcome and receive visitors
Handle incoming phone calls
Provide administrative support: document retrieval, electronic archiving, and photocopying
Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and office materials for the Chancellery and Residence (under the supervision of the steward)
Update inventory records
Carry out administrative procedures
Collect offers and quotes for purchases and execute procurement
Assist with organization of official events and receptions
Maintain the building and perform basic handyman tasks
Oversee stock management of supplies
Please note that the employment contract and all its aspects, included remuneration, are governed by the applicable labour laws of Canada. You are expected to hold a work permit valid for at least two (2) years. The embassy will not assist with obtaining a work permit.
What we offer :
Salary: starting at 3.900 CAD gross per month, with an end-of-year bonus equivalent to one (1) month's gross salary (pro-rated according to the number of months worked). A bi-annual increase of salary is possible following a positive performance review.
Annual paid leave of twenty-five (25) days, plus legal holidays.
