Email Marketing Business Systems Analyst

Location: Canada



We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Email Marketing Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to support our clients marketing operations and campaign initiatives during the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in marketing automation, email campaign execution, and data-driven optimization, as well as the technical ability to review and QA HTML templates, workflows, and data integrations.

This role involves close collaboration with Marketing, Sales, and Data teams to ensure flawless campaign delivery, seamless data flow, and measurable ROI across multiple channels. The ideal professional will bring both strategic business acumen and hands-on technical expertise in platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Unica, Marketo, and Pardot.

Some off-hours support may be required for campaign launches or critical QA cycles; these hours will be compensated as regular hours.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the bridge between business and technical teams for all marketing automation and email campaign activities.

Design, build, test, and deploy complex multi-step campaigns using Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio) or similar tools.

Perform HTML/CSS QA for email templates and landing pages to ensure rendering accuracy, responsiveness, and compliance.

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements, document workflows, and translate them into technical specifications and BRDs.

Execute list segmentation, dynamic content creation, personalization logic, and A/B testing to optimize engagement and deliverability.

Partner with analytics and data teams to ensure data hygiene, accuracy, and proper audience targeting.

Create and maintain SQL queries, data extensions, and automation workflows for campaign execution and reporting.

Conduct end-to-end testing and quality assurance for campaigns, ensuring proper execution, timing, and data validation.

Provide insights on campaign performance, open rates, CTR, conversions, and ROI, and recommend optimization strategies.

Support marketing compliance (CASL, CAN-SPAM) and best practices for email marketing governance.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of experience in email marketing, campaign management, or marketing automation systems.

Strong technical proficiency in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), Pardot, Marketo, or Unica.

Proficient in HTML, AMPscript, SQL, and data extensions.

Experience with QA of HTML templates and cross-platform email rendering (Email on Acid, Litmus, etc.).

Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, Tableau, and data interpretation.

Familiarity with marketing data architecture, CRM integrations, and campaign measurement metrics (ROI, CTR, deliverability).

Excellent documentation skills and experience developing business requirement documents (BRDs) and technical specifications.

Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Salesforce Marketing Cloud and/or Pardot Certification.

HubSpot, Iterable, or Adobe Campaign experience.

Background in SQL optimization and data automation.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Marketing, or related discipline.

Compensation & Hours

Schedule: Regular business hours with occasional compensated off-hour support during high-volume campaign periods.
Job Type: Seasonal
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $38.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week

Work Location: In person
