Posting Overview:




The Lambton Kent District School Board, serves more than 21,000 students in 50 elementary and 12 secondary schools across Sarnia-Lambton and Chatham-Kent.


Prospective qualified elementary and secondary teachers who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply.

must be able to teach French, Ojibwe, or Lenape language. Applicants without language qualifications will not be considered;


must be available to start working immediately or once OCT application has been processed;


must be available to work a minimum of 3-5 days/week;


must be available to work 10 months of the school year;


must be willing to travel throughout Chatham-Kent and/or Sarnia-Lambton;


must be available to work on a daily occasional basis;


must be available to work on a last-minute, call-in basis.

Prospective candidates currently enrolled in teachers college are encouraged to apply.


Successful applicants will be expected to commence employment immediately or once they become OCT qualified(for new graduates/current students).


Qualifications/Experience:




Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification in the respective division and subject area;


French qualifications are required;


experience speaking the Ojibwe and/or Lenape language is required;


additional qualifications are an asset;


demonstrated knowledge of current Ontario curriculum and assessment, evaluation, and reporting practices;


excellent communication skills in order to effectively interact with students, parents and staff ;


demonstrates positive interaction and collaboration as part of the school team;


applies consistent and fair classroom management;


experience working with youth in a variety of settings;


experience working with diverse cultures including First Nations, Metis, and Inuit;


ability to integrate technology into curriculum.
