We are seeking dedicated and experienced Elementary Teachers for Globe Cambridge School, a Private School registered with the Ontario Ministry of Education, located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Our school specializes in education for Grades 1-12, combining Ontario curriculum standards with internationally recognized programs.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a positive and engaging learning environment, fostering academic excellence through inquiry-based learning, and ensuring the holistic development and well-being of elementary students. Teachers will integrate the IB PYP framework with Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum requirements while embodying the school's educational philosophy of developing internationally minded, lifelong learners.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree is required.
- A Master's degree in Education (M.Ed.), Doctor of Education (Ed.D.), or Ph.D. is preferred
- Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification is required.
- At least 2 years of teaching experience in a Canadian private or public elementary school
- IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) teaching experience and relevant training qualifications are required
- Multi-age or differentiated instruction experience preferred
- ESL or international student teaching experience preferred
- Additional qualifications in Special Education, or ESL preferred
- Additional language proficiency (French, Mandarin, Spanish) preferred
& Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with IB PYP framework and Ontario curriculum. Implement inquiry-based, transdisciplinary units of inquiry
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and styles
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
- Integrate technology effectively into teaching and learning
- Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and international-mindedness
- Conduct ongoing formative and summative assessments
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to students
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement
- Prepare report cards and progress reports aligned with standards
- Use assessment data to inform instruction and support student growth
- Build positive relationships and work collaboratively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and classroom activities
- Participate actively in collaborative planning teams (grade level/unit planning)
- Attend parent-teacher conferences and school events
- Contribute to a positive school culture and professional learning community
- Participate in required IB workshops and training
- Engage in ongoing professional learning opportunities
- Stay current with best practices in elementary education and IB pedagogy
- Contribute to curriculum development and school improvement initiatives
